american-hustle

What to do on a Wednesday afternoon? Go to the movies! Why not? I wasen’t really doing much, anyways. Nah, that is a lie. I am working on my final project for the last year of college. Yes, you heard me right, my last year. Finally? I think so, but I would be lying again if I said I am not worried.

Anyways, I invited a friend to go and watch the new David O. Russell movie, American Hustle. I confess, I was waiting more, since I completly loved Silver Linings, which was also with Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper (she is good in her part, with an interesting accent and the dump-blonde-stay-at-home-wife attitude). Him? Not that much, he could’ve done so much more.

American Hustle tells the real story of the con man Irving Rosenfeld (Christian Bale), who along with his equally cunning and seductive British partner Sydney Prosser (Amy Adams) is forced to work for the wild FBI agent, Richie DiMaso (Bradley Cooper). DiMaso pushes them into a world of Jersey powerbrokers and mafia and Irving’s unpredictable wife Rosalyn (Jennifer Lawrence) makes it all (almost) implode with a little “innofensive” comment to one of the mafia guys.

The movie, with all its good actors, 70’s cool astectics and some good lines, didn’t really have a true spark. And I found myself wishing  for it to end. I mean, I laughed a lot at some scenes, and even was sad with some others(oh, the poor mayer), but at most of them I was basically wondering why was Amy Adams showing so much of her boobs.

I have to say, I can’t really understand all the Oscar indications this movie got. Anyways, here is the trailer, take care, it shows only the good parts 😉
